Now discontinued from production, the Diamondback 910Sr remains available at online retailers and as a clearance model in brick-and-mortar stores. Still a versatile recumbent bike that caters to a wide variety of users, it’s certainly still worth a look. Everyone from beginners to advanced trainees choose this fitness machine for general cardiovascular training, strength training, calorie burn and rehabilitative exercise.

Highlights include a Polar wireless heart-rate receiver for you to use with your own chest strap, 32 onboard workout programs, and 32 levels of quiet magnetic resistance. The resistance levels are appropriate for everything from gentle rehabilitative strength training to intense rides that you can feel the next day.

Judging from customer reviews, the vast majority of owners would recommend this bike to their friends. Here are some of the main pros and cons of the Diamondback 910Sr.

The Great

The updated Diamondback 910Sr recumbent bike has lots of stellar selling points.

  • Smooth and Quiet: The 910Sr uses frictionless magnetic resistance and has a 32-pound flywheel. Its smooth and powerful electronically-controlled resistance helps produce a sensation that’s something like riding an outdoor bike.
  • Adjustability and Comfort: With a tall and supportive back, the Diamondback 910Sr’s chair-like seat offers good lumbar support and overall stability. The backing is made from a mesh material for airflow and is reinforced with metal brackets. As well as the mesh seat back, the 910Sr has adjustable handlebars and allows you to adjust the console angle to find your perfect fit.
  • Exercise Data: Session data and heart rate are shown on a multicolor screen. The LCD is partitioned to show multiple streams of data at once.
  • Preset Fitness Programs: The console features 32 preset workouts targeting a variety of fitness goals, including heart-rate-controlled training, custom user programs, and a fitness test. The 910Sr’s QuickSet one-touch keys allow you to adjust the programs and resistance levels easily.
  • Heart-Rate Monitors: Heart-rate contact sensors and a Polar compatible wireless heart-rate receiver are offered on the 910Sr (chest strap not included with purchase).
  • Adjustable Console: You can tilt the console and adjust the handlebars with cushioned armrests for a custom fit and comfortable screen view. This helps to accommodate trainees of different heights.
  • Audio: Plug in your iPad, iPhone, iPod or other mp3 device to stream your favorite workout playlists or podcasts through the 910Sr’s onboard speakers.
  • Tablet Holder: The 910Sr has a tablet holder so you can dock your device safely and securely.
  • Water Bottle Holder: Keep your water bottle within arm’s reach in the holder underneath the 910Sr’s console.
  • Cooling Fans: Keep cool with the 910Sr’s multi-speed cooling fans that can adjust speed based on your workout intensity. This is a great feature for promoting endurance.
  • High Capacity: The Diamondback 910Sr recumbent bike has a high 325-pound user weight capacity.
  • Warranty: The 910Sr has an acceptable warranty for a bike in its price range. It provides five years of coverage for the frame and braking, three years for the parts and electronics, and a year of labor. Wear and tear items are only covered for 90 days.

The Not-So-Great

Most owners of the Diamondback 910Sr would recommend it to a friend. Even so, here are some potential drawbacks.

  • Not for Shorter People: For people 5′ 2″ and under, the pedals on Diamondback Fitness recumbent bikes might be placed too far away. The 910Sr is ideal for users between 5’2″ and 6’5”.
  • Assembly: This machine could easily take a few hours to assemble. The assembly process is awkward because sometimes the bike needs to be moved into odd positions.
  • Large Size: Recumbent bikes take up more space than upright bikes do. The base here measures 64″ L x 23″ W.
  • Discontinued Model: As a discontinued model, parts and service might be hard to come by.
